The course is introductory and inter-disciplinary. It aims to provide participants with an understanding of international human rights norms, as well as the systems for protecting these at international, regional and national level. It mainly targets professionals who have a job relevant to human rights.
Selection criteria
Job relevance: To what extent the knowledge gained from the course may be useful in your current job, to you and to others
In the selection process, the organisers will opt for a diversity of professional backgrounds, including a good balance between civil servants, civil society representatives, and others with relevant background (such as legal practitioners, representatives of independent state institutions like courts and ombudsman, and people working for international organisations, and academics)
Added value: This is a basic course. Applicants who already have undergone extensive studies in human rights are normally not prioritized
Language: An adequate level of written and oral English skills is required to follow the course
Geographical location: We aim to have participants from different countries and regions
It is a Fully Funded Short Course for 5 Days Organized by the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) at the University of Oslo. The Program will run from 1st to 5th September 2025 in Oslo. Participants from all the Countries and Regions are eligible to apply. Moreover, there is no application fee and IELTS is also not required.
