Here See Most Famous Scholarship Programs in Pakistan to Study Abroad

 

It is really important for every Pakistani student to get a scholarship if he/ she wishes to study abroad. Studying abroad is very expensive particularly for Pakistani students. A major reason is the currency difference of developed countries and Pakistan. Dollars and Euro are at least hundred times stronger than Pakistani rupee. In addition, Pakistan is not a very rich country. People hardly make a living in this country and if they have to visit a foreign country they will have to spend a great percentage of their financial resources if they have any.

Most of the Pakistani students who wish to study abroad apply for only foreign scholarships. Most of students are unaware that every year thousands of scholarships are distributed in Pakistan by government or some independent organizations. Before you apply for a foreign scholarships scheme, try to get the support from Pakistani scholarship and grant programs. In today’s article, I am sharing with you the most famous scholarship schemes in Pakistan to study abroad.


 

1 -   Commonwealth Scholarships

Commonwealth scholarships is a project initiated by a group of developed countries for underprivileged students in developing countries who wish to study abroad. Students are required to pass the NTS GRE Test in order to be eligible for this scholarship. These scholarships are usually announced in the month of September. Student must hold a Masters, MBA or BSc. Hons (4 years) degree to apply for this program. 2 -   Edcon Scholarships

Edcon is an international organization that distributes scholarships in Pakistan for eligible students. They offer scholarships for all students from school to university level, to those studying in Pakistan and to those who want to go abroad. Edcon Asia Offers Scholarship Program in which it gives scholarships to 2,000 intelligent students of schools and colleges in Pakistan.


 

3 -   HEC Scholarship

Higher Education Commission is the parent of all universities in Pakistan. Most of the scholarships in Pakistan are distributed by HEC. Every year they offer dozens of scholarships to eligible Pakistani students who want to study abroad. They publish an advertisement when there are scholarships available. Most of the foreign private or public scholarships are also granted through HEC in Pakistan. 4 -   PEEF Scholarships

Punjab Educational Endowment Fund is an initiative by Chief Minister Punjab to help students who are unable to financially support their education. 5 -   British Council Scholarships

If you want to study in United Kingdom, British Council can help you in this regard. Its main responsibility is IELTS but it also assists students to get numerous scholarships and grants in various universities of United Kingdom. 6 -   NTS Scholarships

National Testing Service is mostly known for its academic tests conducted for universities and different job vacancies. It is Pakistan’s largest testing service. Numerous educational institutes and government departments, corporate and organizations acquire their services to test potential applicants. NTS aims towards filtering out the most eligible students and professionals in their relative fields. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) runs scholarship programs in many countries including Pakistan. They offer numerous scholarship and fund programs for financially poor students in Pakistan to study abroad. The Charles Wallace Pakistan Trust is a registered United Kingdom Charity to benefit Pakistanis to improve their professional development or doctoral studies in the United Kingdom. Note that this program not for Bachelors or Masters degree students. They offer up to 12 annual fellowships in Pakistan. This consists of only four separate programs:
