Murdoch University is pleased to provide the Research Training Programme (RTP) Stipends to overseas students beginning higher degree by research (HDR) programs in 2025. This distinguished fellowship, financed by the Australian government, is intended to help excellent overseas students who demonstrate great academic merit and research potential.

Scholarship Benefits
- Living Stipend: Around AUD $33,000 per year (2024 rate, adjusted annually).
- Duration of Funding:
- Master's by Research candidates can take up to two years.
- Doctoral applicants can study for up to 3.5 years
- Additional support:
- Candidates may be eligible for tuition fee offset via the RTP Fee Offset program.
- Health insurance coverage (Overseas Student Health Coverage - OSHC) may be added for eligible students.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the RTP Stipend, applicants must:
- As a foreign student, enroll full-time in an HDR program at Murdoch University.
- Meet the university's academic admissions requirements for research degrees.
- Have a Bachelor's degree with Honors (First Class or 2A), or a Master's degree with a major thesis/research component.
- Not previously had an RTP or comparable scholarship, unless completed and reapplying for a higher level qualification.
- Showcase a high level of research potential through related professional experience, publications, or prior research accomplishments.
